Aspiring Principals Program

Rashad Meade
New Leaders Alum, 2008

For 20 years, New Leaders has worked in and with schools, districts, and states to improve school performance by developing leaders at all levels—from teacher leaders to principal supervisors—with the mindset, skills, and practice needed to drive instructional excellence at scale.

Our work in Chicago over the last 20+ years has measurably improved student outcomes for some of the city’s most underserved students. The following highlights demonstrate our shared impact:

New Leaders have led 266 district and charter schools, and we have had a presence in 370 schools.
17% of current Chicago Public School principals are New Leaders alums.
Since 2001, 80%+ of our Aspiring Principals Program completers have been placed as either principals or assistant principals in the Chicago area within the same year they completed their residency.
