
Joshua Lewis
Mr. Lewis is Founder and Managing Principal of Salmon River Capital LLC, a boutique private equity/venture capital firm. He has over 30 years of experience in working in partnership with management teams building valuable growth businesses across a wide range of dynamic industries and transaction types. Mr. Lewis previously served as a General Partner of both Warburg Pincus, where he served for over a decade, and Forstmann Little.
Mr. Lewis has served on a wide range of public and private corporate boards in the education/human capital, technology, biotechnology and telecommunications, sectors. He has served on the New Leaders Board for almost 20 years, including 8 as Chairman.
Mr. Lewis holds a D.Phil. (Ph.D.) from Oxford University (1989) and an A.B., summa cum laude, from Princeton University (1984). His interests include sports involving mountains, whitewater rivers, or cycling. He is a member of the American Alpine Club and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Mr. Lewis is married to Tess Lewis, an essayist and literary translator. They live in the New York area and have two children.
