New Leaders

Great leaders = Great schools TM

Milwaukee

New Leaders partnered closely with Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) from 2006 to 2011 to prepare and support a new generation of outstanding school leaders dedicated to helping all students succeed. As of March 2011, the partnership between New Leaders and MPS evolved to better meet the current MPS context and the needs of the system, schools and students. We have transitioned out of offering the Aspiring Principals Program in Milwaukee to take on a different role as district thought partner. We will continue to share ongoing learning from our program and our other district and charter system partners across the country with MPS, but will no longer be recruiting and training aspiring principals for the district. New Leaders and MPS remain dedicated to finding ways to work together to enhance leadership effectiveness and improve student achievement in Milwaukee.

Impact & Results

Over the course of our partnership with MPS and local charter management organizations, we have trained and supported 32 leaders who are working with approximately 12,000 high-need students across the city.  With 22 principals in Milwaukee, New Leaders will continue to be a vital part of MPS and lead their schools with the goal of high academic achievement for all students.
