Emerging Leaders Program

We are partnering with Memphis City Schools to offer the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) for the first time in the 2011-2012 academic year. This new program provides instructional leadership training to a select group of educators working in the district.  ELP is a pipeline to our Aspiring Principals Program and is intended for teachers, coaches,  assistant principals and other school leaders who are two years away from the principalship. The 2011-2012 class is filled.

For more information about the 2012-2013 Emerging Leaders Program in Memphis, please contact Nick Patterson.

Aspiring Principals Program

Our Aspiring Principal Program in Memphis is comprised of an intensive four-week summer program, followed by year-long residency training with a mentor principal in a public school.  After their training, New Leader Principals join the Principal Institute, a professional learning community that offers ongoing development and support in the crucial first year on the job.

More than 60 school leaders in Memphis City Schools have gone through the New Leaders Aspiring Principals Program and are currently working to transform public and charter schools to achieve dramatic gains in student achievement. We offer ongoing professional development, with at least three designated opportunities to the entire New Leader community per year.
