Emerging Leaders Program
Our Emerging Leaders Program trains teachers, leaders, coaches, assistant principals and other leaders in instructional roles to develop and expand their leadership skills. Participants may become New Leader principals, as the majority of matriculants into our Aspiring Principals Program must first join and complete our Emerging Leaders Program.
This new program will provide training to a select group of educators working in BCPS and PGCPS. Only applicants who are in a teaching or school-based instructional leadership role in BCPS or PGCPS are eligible to enter the Emerging Leaders Program.
The program for the 2011-2012 school year has already begun. If you are interested in applying to our Aspiring Principals Program starting in the summer of 2012, please apply by first filling out the Eligibility Pre-Screening Form on our website.
Contact Brittany Green, Maryland Program Manager, if you need help determining which program is right for you.
Aspiring Principals Program
Through our rigorous selection process, intensive training program and ongoing support, we provide a pathway for current and former educators to become outstanding principals of urban public schools.
The Maryland program has been certified by MSDE to confer the state-mandated Administrator and Supervisor I credential upon those who successfully complete our training program. As a fully accredited pathway to the principalship, ours is the first partnership program in the state and one of the first in the country to be granted this type of authority.
You can start the application process to the Aspiring Principals Program by filling out the Eligibility Pre-screening Form. If you have questions, or are not sure if you should be filling out the form, please contact our Admissions Team.
